True story, I was running Microsoft Essentials when I accidently went into about 200 Porno sights ***** all of a sudden I got a real bad "Trojan" that F...ed my computer for a couple of days. When I could finally use it to some limited extent I downloaded Norton Antivirus. After the download it picked up every Virus that Microsoft had missed, cleared them from my Computer and started running almost OK. Couldn't work out why it was so slow, "and I mean slow" until yesterday when I got an update from Norton and it told me M/E was not compatible and I should uninstall it. Have not done so yet but will try it on the weekend when I have time and see if it's any better. Try M/E by all means, but don't trust it, at least on those naughty sites :x

One for the Brits -- If you have a Barclays current account and use on-line banking you can get Kaspesky for free ++)(* All you need to do is log into on-line banking and find the link for the free download.

I think it's about 50quid normally so worth doing. You can also load it onto 4 different computers so if you don't have Barclays accunt but a friend or family member does you can ask them for the required download url and code.

I bought Kaspersky at Tohnan upstairs in the complex for about £8...it has been generally very good. However, it did let a trojan in a few weeks ago...not from a dodgy site either!!...it could not disinfect it but I managed to get it deleted before it started to party! I think I will stick with it on it's renewal though given that experience!!
I'd rather put a camp fire out with my face

Contact Milton Bell at mirada_1@hotmail.com. Not sure if he is in Udon or Calif at the moment but he can fix you up with original programs.

Were you running it on Vista or Windows 7?

I've been using Zone alarm for about 8 years now, pretty good, normally manages to kill all the nasties, the only down sides I would say is that it slows the machine on boot up and you get the odd false positive.
